What is Streaming?
Streaming means that you basically can listen to audio over the
internet without downloading to your
Computer, Normally Streaming is instant.
If you are on a dial-up connection, referred to as 56k, streaming
can result in disrupted playback as
your connection is not fast enough to allow the whole file to be
played.
ZIP files
ZIP files are a compressed folder in which a number of files,
such as audio & video can be contained.
We use ZIP files on Myvitriol.net as a means to minimise the file
size you download, resulting in quicker
downloads.
If you cannot open a .zip file you will need to download a ZIP
Archiving program.

encoded in a format which requires you to install a codec to
play the file.
The Music videos on Myvitriol.net are in a Quick Time format.
You will need to install Quick time onto
your computer to allow you to play these.
